Sheriff, CHP and OC District Attorney Prosecutors this week at the 21st Annual MADD Orange County DUI Recognition Luncheon at the Nixon Library.
Jon Fish, a MADD member and advocate for the enforcement of DUI laws and the support of Officers, Deputies and Prosecutors who diligently work the streets and courtrooms to protect citizens, was part of the minute-long standing ovation for HB Traffic Officer Tai Huynh , who established a new county record of 407 arrests in one year.
Officers from Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa and Orange Police Departments dominated the awards, taking most of the top 10 honors for most arrests in one year.
Fish, who enjoys the trust and endorsement of police associations throughout OC, supports the OC Traffic Officers Association Memorial Foundation and will attend the OC Sheriffs Medal of Valor Luncheon this week explained, "I am constantly amazed and impressed with the work of these Officers and proud to be part of these honors today. Jon Fish Honors United States Marines
Viet Nam Veterans - South Vietnamese Soldiers
At the 40th Anniversary of the Battle of Khe Sanh
Westminster, CA: Orange County Superior Court Judge Candidate Jon Fish delivered his thoughts and prayers at ceremonies for the United States Marine Corps and allied agencies that defended Khe Sanh on the 40th anniversary of one of the most historic battles in the military history of this nation in Westminster, California, on Monday, January 21, as part of a candlelight ceremony, presented at the County Memorial monument in the Westminster Civic Center.
Fish, who had his representatives post a single candle at the base of the bronze soldiers sentinels, said the County memorial is to believed to be the nations’ largest honors of the siege of 6,000 United States Marines who fought from January 21, 1968 to April 8, 1968, against 20,000 North Vietnamese Regulars, merciless enemy bombardments and horrific weather that stretched their very survival and command of the northern province of South Vietnam.
The memorial featured keynote speaker and survivor of the siege in United States Federal Judge and former Marine, David O. Carter, who sustained such catastrophic wounds that he was on his way to Graves-registration when Medics realized he was still alive. Judge Carter received the Bronze Star for gallantry in combat / Purple Heart and told attendees and family members his recollections of surviving in the muddy red clay, rats and cold rations of Khe Sanh.
Fish was unable to attend the memorial in person due to family obligations with his newborn to honor the memory of men and women who served careers in the Navy and Marine Corps and give thanks to those Marines and South Vietnamese Army members and all Vietnam Veterans who served in defense of Khe Sanh as a stand against communism in Viet Nam…but remembered their sacrifices and bravery in prayer and quiet reflection from his residence.
